Below you will find an array of links to various
environmental organizations. They provide a wealth of information, and
many offer the opportunity to make your voice heard to the people who need to
hear it. So far I haven't found one stand-alone site for my pet peeve,
which is educating people out of the habit of demonizing the natural
world. But that is something that each one of us has the power to do, in
our everyday conversations. As artists, we also have the power to reach
people through our varied mediums. The same disturbing message has been
repeated in every place possible, from the internet to the pulpit to letters to
the editor in our local newspaper - this planet is vile and infested with
sinners and needs to be "cleansed." I think another message
needs to be put forth - that we live and breathe because the planet feeds and oxygenates
us, and not that we are born sinners on a raft of evil floating through
space. You can't expect to teach people that everything about them and
their world is evil and then have them care for, nurture, and protect it.
These links will assist us all in finding our own ways to care for, nurture, and
protect the living, breathing planet that nurtures and protects us.

forests. This is a good source for always-up-to-date information.
